World Environment Day (WED) is a United Nations initiative encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the environment. It is a global platform, but also serves as a day for individuals to do something positive for the environment and at Rooland, we are joining in. This Friday, the Rooland office will be spending time at beautiful Towradgi beach, taking in the coastal landscape of the Illawarra and picking up rubbish! It is a small, but important step towards creating positive personal habits that are considerate of our impact on the environment.
The theme of WED 2015 is “Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care.” Rooland encourages everyone to be mindful of consumption and its impact on the environment. Ultimately our own well-being depends on the planet’s natural resources so let’s use World Environment Day to think about how we can use sustainable practices at home and in the office. For those unsure how to go about this, the Rooland Green Guide is a free, downloadable resource which takes the hard work out of caring for the environment.
Join us this Friday June 5 and enjoy the sun, sand and give back to the environment.
