We are very inspired by the installations made of rubbish by Alejandro Duran: “Washed Up: Transforming a Trashed Landscape”. After collecting plastic debris from different places around the world, Duran created site-specific installations on the coast of Mexico.
This reveals how much rubbish is being washed up on beaches every day. Alejandro Duran received the Juror’s Awards from Center for these beautiful photographs. The rubbish collected has been incorporated to fit into the landscape it has been displayed in. This makes a visually pleasing photograph discussing an ugly topic; consumer waste and the amount of plastic that we go throw away every day.
